Gooood morning Darksbane Fans! So this is a quick update since I did most of the updating in the recent Wednesday post even though I shouldn’t have! 🙂 But we do have a good update for the week! Anna finished another novella! Steel & Steam #3 is on it’s way to publication! If you haven’t started this series yet, I can highly recommend it. Anna invented this series, setting, everything whole-cloth without my help so I’ve been enjoying it as a reader and editor and maaaan I’ve enjoyed it! Seriously epic work in an incredible world setting that I just […]

Another rainy day in Florence… But I love the rain. Today is a fun day for us at the Darksbane house. 🙂 Anna’s wrapping up the third Steel & Steam novella as we speak (She’ll finish today), and I’m editing it behind her. Tomorrow, we’re going to be re-outlining Risen and finalizing it so I can continue writing it without running into issues and getting lost. We meant to have this done already, but the holidays really took it out of us this year. Yes, that means Dakota is coming soon. 😉  As soon as we finish Risen’s outlining, Anna’s […]

Sci Fi & Fantasy, but with lesbians.

I am so excited about the upcoming release of Thrall: Beyond Gold and Glory by Barbara Ann Wright, my favorite author of lesbian fantasy. She announced that the book was available today and I scurried over to Amazon to find it on pre-order for September 14th. Darn it! I really wanted that book now! 🙂 But it’s for the best. I’m so busy writing the next installment to the Dakota Shepherd series (this one is a short story to hold you all over until the release of book 3) and working on the cover art for the debut release of […]

Seeing Your First Book in Print

Posted on 3 CommentsPosted in About the Authors, Blog, Books

This has been a crazy year. January 1, 2015, I had no idea that in a little over six months, I would be a published author with my first book out and my second book zipping along right behind it. I had no idea I’d be able to make my own cover art, see my book in ebook format with a fancy looking cover and formatting, and then hear from people who had read my book, my story and liked it. Even loved it. I had no idea that I would be standing here one day holding a copy of my story in print. A book. […]

“Real Books”

Posted on 1 CommentPosted in Blog, Books

I was reading an article today by author Hugh Howey about the shifts in the industry from printed books to e-books and how traditional publishers are generally fighting back against indie publishers, Amazon distribution, and anything else that’s threatening to cut out their stranglehold on book sales. It was an interesting and extensive article on a topic that should matter to anyone interested in publishing a book of their own, but the part that really catches my attention is the idea that some people actually prefer printed books over e-readers these days. I don’t really understand this idea personally. I […]
